Who We Are

Shyamal Saumil is a celebrated Gujarati music trio — Shyamal Munshi, Saumil Munshi, and Aarti Munshi — childhood companions who discovered their shared destiny in the corridors of a music school in Ahmedabad. What began as playful jam sessions became a lifelong musical conversation, and since 1970, they have been the voice of Gujarati music across generations.

Dr. Shyamal Munshi
Celebrated poet-composer and plastic surgeon
Saumil Munshi
Thinker and singer with a rich baritone
Aarti Munshi
Nightingale-voiced singer and music educator

Known as the Soor Triveni, the trio brings together the roles of poet, composer, and singer in a rare combination. Together, they have performed across India and internationally, won the prestigious Gujarat Gaurav Puraskar, and dedicated their journey to keeping the Gujarati language and its music alive and thriving.

Their musical repertoire spans four distinct categories — Chanchal (joyful and playful), Sheetal (soulful ghazals and poetry), Nirmal (devotional bhajans and prayers), and Komal (children's melodies) — ensuring music for every mood, age, and occasion.

Our Mission

To entertain and connect people through creativity expressed in the Gujarati language and music. To carefully unveil the depth and meaning of poetry by carrying its words in the gentle embrace of melody, while offering audiences an emotionally enriching and entertaining experience.

Our Vision

To create and present performances that inspire a deep sense of pride and appreciation for the Gujarati language and culture among people — across Gujarat, across India, and across the Gujarati diaspora worldwide.

Through Swarsetu, Pradan Charitable Trust, Kaladham, and Vat Thi Gujarati, the trio is committed to nurturing children, youth, and emerging artists — ensuring Gujarati music and culture flourishes for generations to come.

03 Logo Usage

Correct Logo Usage

Correct and consistent application of the logo protects the brand's identity and reinforces recognition. Always use the approved master logo files — never recreate or redraw the logo.

Logo on Backgrounds

Contrast is essential. The logo must always read clearly against its background:

  • Black logo — use on White (#FFFFFF) or Warm Ivory (#F8F4EC) backgrounds
  • White logo — use on Deep Midnight Blue (#0F172A) or Rich Maroon (#6B1F2A) backgrounds
  • Never use a grey or low-contrast version of the logo on any coloured background
  • Never use the logo over a photographic image unless it is a clean, uncluttered image with strong contrast

✔ Do

  • Use the black logo on white or ivory backgrounds
  • Use the white logo on dark or deep-coloured backgrounds
  • Maintain the logo in a single solid colour
  • Keep proportions locked — scale uniformly
  • Use adequate clear space at all times
  • Use the registered logo (®) in all outward-facing communications

✘ Don't

  • Do not add drop shadows or glows to the logo
  • Do not place the logo at an angle or rotate it
  • Do not stretch, squash, or distort the logo
  • Do not change the logo colours arbitrarily
  • Do not change the typeface of the logotype
  • Do not place the logo on busy or cluttered backgrounds

04 Colour Palette

Colour Usage Principles

The palette is intentionally restrained and sophisticated. Colours should be used with purpose — never decoratively or arbitrarily.

  • Deep Midnight Blue is the dominant background and text colour. It grounds all communications in authority and depth.
  • Warm Ivory is the primary light background. It evokes warmth, craft, and heritage — preferred over pure white for premium communications.
  • Antique Gold is the accent that brings heritage and warmth. Use it for headings, dividers, highlights, and decorative elements.
  • Rich Maroon brings depth and cultural resonance. Use sparingly as a secondary accent or for special occasion applications.
  • Colours should be subdued and elegant — never loud or overly bright combinations.

06 Digital Formats

Recommended Digital Formats

Consistent sizing and format ratios ensure the brand appears polished and professional across all digital platforms. Always use the approved dimensions for each platform.

Platform Format Dimensions (px) Notes
Instagram Post Portrait (preferred) 1080 × 1350 4:5 ratio — primary format
Instagram Post Square 1080 × 1080 1:1 — secondary option
Instagram Story Vertical 1080 × 1920 9:16 — full screen stories
YouTube Thumbnail Landscape 1280 × 720 16:9 — high contrast recommended
Facebook Cover Landscape 820 × 360 Avoid key elements near edges
Facebook Post Square/Landscape 1200 × 1200 Safe for both feed and share
WhatsApp Status Vertical 1080 × 1920 Same as Story format
Design Principles for Digital
  • Always use the correct format ratio — never stretch or crop the logo or core design elements to fit an incorrect canvas
  • Ensure the logo is placed in a corner, never dead-centre, for a more intentional and premium feel
  • On dark digital backgrounds (Deep Midnight Blue), use the white logo version
  • On light digital backgrounds (Warm Ivory or white), use the black/dark logo version
  • Maintain safe zones at least 5% from all edges to prevent key content from being cut off on mobile screens
07
07 Identity Pattern

Brand Identity Pattern

The Shyamal Saumil identity pattern is derived from the logo mark. When tiled or used as a background texture, it creates a richly branded surface that is immediately recognisable without overpowering the primary content.

Pattern Usage
  • The identity pattern may be used on stationery, packaging, fabric, gift wrapping, and branded merchandise
  • Always maintain consistent geometric pattern angles — do not distort or rotate individual elements
  • The pattern works best in a tonal or low-contrast version — logo mark in a slightly lighter or darker shade of the background colour
  • On dark backgrounds (Deep Midnight Blue), use the pattern in a slightly lighter blue or gold at reduced opacity
  • On light backgrounds (Warm Ivory), use the pattern in a light gold or warm grey tone
  • The pattern should complement the design — it must never compete with content or reduce legibility
Pattern Dos and Don'ts

✔ Do

  • Use tonal/low-contrast versions only
  • Keep pattern angle consistent throughout
  • Use on packaging, fabric, and stationery
  • Ensure primary content remains the focal point

✘ Don't

  • Do not use the pattern at full colour contrast
  • Do not distort or vary the pattern angle
  • Do not overlay text directly on a busy pattern area
  • Do not use the pattern as a substitute for the logo
08
08 Graphic Elements

Graphic Elements & Layout

Beyond the logo and colour, Shyamal Saumil's visual identity is enriched by a set of graphic language elements — arrowheads, angular crops, and structural lines — derived from the logo mark itself. These create a cohesive, dynamic, and intentional visual system.

‹ ›
Graphic Arrowheads

Arrowheads derived from the logo symbol are a key part of our graphic expression. They signify direction, progress, and connection. Use alongside bold typography and the brand colour palette for engaging, dynamic layouts.

Graphic Arrowheads

  • Arrowheads point towards key information or calls to action
  • Use in pairs (‹ ›) for carousel or navigational applications
  • Use as graphic dividers or pull-quote brackets
  • Maintain the same stroke weight as used in the logo mark

Type Alignments & Angles

45° Increment

Typography within brand layouts can be set at angles inspired by the pedestal structure of the logo mark — creating energy and visual interest. When using angled type:

  • Angles should align to 30° or 45° increments — no arbitrary angles
  • Angled type works best for headlines and display text — never body copy
  • Ensure angled text remains legible against its background at all times
  • Combine angled typography with the Antique Gold colour for maximum brand resonance

Crops & Compositions

When the logo or brand mark is used in large-format applications, it may be cropped to reveal just a portion — creating a bold, graphic composition. The crop must:

  • Remain recognisable as derived from the Shyamal Saumil mark
  • Be used intentionally as a background or compositional element, never as a substitute for the full logo
  • Work within the approved colour palette only
